Dr. Bard is frequently employed by attorneys on issues of competency to stand trail, criminal responsibility, assessment of dangerousness and aid to sentencing.  He has worked in court clinic settings and is familiar with the interface of psychology and law.

Dr. Bard has also done Workman's Compensation evaluations as well as psychological testing for eligibility for SSI/SSDI.  He has served as a consultant to the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division of Health Services Licensure.

With the advent of "sexually dangerous person" laws, Dr. Bard has been retained by attorneys in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Washington to conduct evaluations of dangerousness under various SDP and "sexually violent predator" statutes.
